I've always been intrigued by bees. I remember using long, thin tweezers to dissect a bee as a kid and thinking, "I am a scientist now." Their instinct and teamwork is fascinating. I mean, how crazy would it be to be born and immediately know exactly what you're supposed to do in life? No instructions. Just pop out of your little wax cell, and bam, you're just doing stuff. You're a worker or a drone or the queen, and go. Wow. Needless to say, I was enthralled by the beekeeper's tour at Big Island Bees. This was one of our first stops in Hawaii, and their raw, organic honey was excellent. They also have a little bee museum, and some very cool wax art. Check them out on your next adventure, or order yourself some Hawaiian sweetness!
